No Topic Order Description Explore the changes of a story/theme/character in" rel="nofollow">in any of the readin" rel="nofollow">ings from class or outside of class! Some ideas: One way to do this would be to compare and contrast one of the readin" rel="nofollow">ings with a contemporary work of fiction or nonfiction. Any of the books and stories we have looked at can be used. We saw an example with Pygmalion last week. If we were to take Pygmalion in" rel="nofollow">into even more contemporary works, we could fin" rel="nofollow">ind the story in" rel="nofollow">in the newer play "The Shape of Thin" rel="nofollow">ings." In that story, Pygmalion/Higgin" rel="nofollow">ins is a woman, and the "statue' is a man with poor self image. How do the changes in" rel="nofollow">in a story change accordin" rel="nofollow">ing to the time, place, etc.? Another way would be to look at a character through the lens of a hero's journey. Some other ideas: How does the historical affect the contemporary? Where does it diverge? How does a story change accordin" rel="nofollow">ing to culture or time? Why is the book or work you chose one that has been adapted today? So many other possibilities! Basically what you want to do with this essay is explore a work or works that you enjoy. Write about what excited you about the works.
