Feminist Critique of a Theory?

Take a theory which we have learned in this course and write a critique of this theory from the feminist standpoint. You may choose any one theoretical concept (e.g., "commodity" "rationalization" "AGIL system" "the generalized other" "intersubjectivity," etc), or one whole body of ideas belonging to a theorist (Durkheim's theory of religion, Marx's theory of capitalism, Goffman's theory of self, Gilman's theory of the family, Merton's theory of crime, etc). In your post, first, state the theory and explain what the theory says. Then, discuss how feminist standpoint theorists and/or intersectionality theorists would interpret and evaluate this theory. Would they see great theoretical insights on gender issues in this theory and try to further develop or modify those insights? (If so, what are those insights and how would they be developed further?) Or, would they see shortcomings and biases and critique them? (If so, what are those shortcomings/biases? How would feminist theories remedy them) A good way of thinking about this is to ask yourself, "if Durkheim, Marx, Weber, or Du Bois were feminists, how would they have modified their theories?"
