1. Neuroplasticity is the ability of the brain to reorganize itself by forming new neural connections throughout life in response to learning, environment or injury. This means that the brain can change and adapt as we learn and grow, allowing us to develop skills such as language and motor control.
2. The human brain contains an estimated 86 billion neurons which are connected by around 100 trillion synapses – this creates a vast network in our brains that processes information and helps us form memories, thoughts and feelings.
3. Brainwaves are electrical signals generated by neurons when they communicate with each other – these signals vary in frequency depending on what activity the brain is doing at any given time, from deep sleep (delta waves) to intense concentration (beta waves).
