Funding Project

• What do you plan to achieve with your project? - "What" impact will your project have? - "Why" are you undertaking this project? (issues/needs being addressed) - Don't go into depth about the "how" you will accomplish the project but broadly mention key activities you will undertake to accomplish your project goals (for e.g. community outreach and education, community capacity building, counseling services, enhancement of existing services and programs, etc.). Your workplan will allow you an opportunity to list specific details
• Please indicate why this project is important and why we should fund it (include any relevant statistics, research, support, etc.)? - Clearly state how the project fills a gap, meets a need, develops skills, builds on an opportunity, etc. - Any information from your group's community report and any other related research are critical here. What have you leamed from your research and other sources that have shaped this project idea'? - Reference your sources and provide specific details that will help convince the funder of the need. - Is this project building off of any existing work? If so, expand on this. - Demonstrate how your project is unique and innovative — do not simply replicate what another organization or group is already doing However, you can model a new project for your unique community based on the success of similar projects elsewhere.
• Describe who in your community will benefit from the initiative and how. - Describe the 'target population', paying attention to intersecting identities and intersecting issues (e.g. mental health and homelessness, mental health and substance use, gender based violence and mental health, immigration and mental health, etc.) - Be able to explain and justify why you are focusing on who you are focusing on. - What will change for these community members as a result of your project?
