Upon leaving University having graduated with a good Honours degree in Business management you have secured a position with a multinational mining and mineral exploration and extraction company based in the UK. You are appointed as a team leader for a project that will pave the way for the organization to operate in an emerging South American economy. As part of this process you are asked to assess the skills that you will require to prepare the ground for the expansion of the enterprise. You will assess your own skill levels and outline an appropriate personal development plan. It is crucial for the success of the project that personnel from the home country and the emerging economy are merged into a single team. You will highlight any factors that may inhibit this process. As team leader, you will have a say in how the team is selected and you will demonstrate your sensitivity to the issues involved in building a multinational team. You will also demonstrate an understanding of globalization and the contextual issues that will be the critical success factors for the success of the project. You are required to produce a business report, in an acceptable report format of no more than 2000 words; you need to include in the report the following: 1. Assessment of your personal leadership skills and any skills development you may require to fulfil the task. 2. Demonstrate an understand the importance of personal development planning. 3. That development you need will be based on an assessment of your current leadership skill levels. 4. You are required to assess the characteristics, skills and competences you will require in your team members. 5. You are required to make an assessment of the key factors in the context in which you will operate.
