Conduct an overview of the Gospels – the story of the Son of God.
The unit of scripture called the Gospels provides the greatest amount of in" rel="nofollow">information about the person and min" rel="nofollow">inistry of Jesus Christ. Interestin" rel="nofollow">ingly, the story of Jesus is told four times to four different focus groups with four different emphases. The use of a sin" rel="nofollow">ingle gospel provides a reasonable understandin" rel="nofollow">ing of Jesus. Collectively, however, the four gospels provide an expanded understandin" rel="nofollow">ing and a more complete picture of the God-man we call Savior and Lord.
Within" rel="nofollow">in the study of the Gospels is the debate over origin" rel="nofollow">in. Specifically, are Matthew and Luke dependent upon a source document that provides vital in" rel="nofollow">information for their books? This in" rel="nofollow">introduces two questions: was Mark the first gospel written; and is there an anonymous source in" rel="nofollow">in use? Add to this the dynamic of “synoptic gospels” and you have more than a few thin" rel="nofollow">ings to consider in" rel="nofollow">in your critical study of the story of the Son of God
Read the in" rel="nofollow">introduction for all four gospels in" rel="nofollow">in a study Bible or Bible handbook and complete a cursory read of the Gospel of Mark.
