The final project for this course invites you to imagine that you are starting your own nonprofit organization. You will use the knowledge that you have gained from each of the units in order to prepare for the launch of your nonprofit.
Thoroughness of planning for the launch of your nonprofit will be a significant factor in the grading of this project. At a minimum, please address the following issues and topics:
Describe your nonprofit in some detail. Why do you desire to start this organization? What need are you trying to fill or what gap is being addressed? Provide an initial description of what your nonprofit will look like when (if) it becomes successful. What will define success? What Christian principles or values will be evident through your organization?
List and briefly describe the various documents that will need to be filed to establish your nonprofit organization. An exceptional project will include the completed forms ready for submission. This additional step is not required but demonstrates a strong command of the topic.
Explain your leadership structure. What will be the role and characteristics of any volunteers? What will be their primary duties? Describe the size and role of your board and the relationship you will have with them. Will you serve as the President or Executive Director or find someone else for that role? What other staffing will be needed and what roles will they fill? How will your staffing change if you are successful during your first three years?
