Aim: This assessment will assess the student’s ability to formulate a specific clinical question arising from practice and retrieve relevant studies. It will also
assess the student’s ability to critically examine the literature related to the specific clinical question and to consider how the findings of the review might be
implemented in a clinical setting, as a basis of evidence-based health care.
Students will be asked to:
Summarise a clinical problem or issue from their own practice
Formulate a structured clinical question
Outline a systematic search strategy
Present a Table of Study Characteristics summarsing the key aspects of the six(6) best or most relevant research studies retrieved (attach as an Appendix)
Critically review study quality and findings
Relate key implications of reviewed evidence to the identified clinical problem/issue and explore how these findings could be incorporated to guide clinical decisions
in own clinical setting
Identifies key barriers and facilitators to implementation and describes two evidence-based strategies appropriate to facilitate this practice change in their own
clinical setting.
