Human Capital and WeaveTech: High Performance Change

1) thoroughness/comprehensiveness of your analysis of the case; 2) quality and rigor of your
explanation of the key issues (i.e. specificity, situated in context, integration of prior concepts
and theories); and 3) clarity in your communication/slides/Q & A (i.e. coherent, logical,
organized):
a) Describe the organization and its history, the industry or industry segment in which it
operates, what type of products or services are produced or sold, which region in the
US/World it operates, the vision, mission, values, and business strategy (50 points).

b) Discuss whether and how human capital enables/limits the organization in
maintaining its competitiveness. For example, discuss any unique advantages,
strengths and weaknesses, and any characteristics that differentiate their human
capital from those of competitors (50 points).

c) Identify and discuss one human capital-related issue faced by the organization.
Explain the exact nature of the issue. Include information about relevant
occupations/job categories, functional/dysfunctional management policies and
practices, and relevant aspects of the organizational culture. Incorporate theory and
concepts from previous academic courses in human capital and society or the current
course in explaining the human capital issues and their implications (50 points).

d) Discuss the potential solution to the human capital issue that is suggested in the case
study and provide your analysis of whether this is an appropriate solution and why. If
no solution is provided in the case, propose your own solution to the issue and be
prepared to explain how/why it would work. Incorporate theory and concepts from
previous academic courses in Human Capital & Society or the current course in
explaining how to solve the human capital challenges faced (50 points).

e) Briefly compare the organization with other organizations in which you have
previously been or are currently a member of, or other organizations that we have
discussed in class, and explain why there may be differences/similarities in the human
capital issue faced and the potential solution to this issue (50 points).
Your presentation should take 20 minutes. The class and I will then have time to ask you a few brief questions.
