Human Services History, Theory, Research, and Practice

  Order Description         Questions: 1. In light of text direction, agency afiliations and orientations; and barriers, what are Human Services Workers and what do they do? Additionally, define and give examples of cognitive complexity and the Respectful Counseling Model. 2. Discuss and elaborate on the changing nature of the helping process as relevant to helping the Western culture and the history of Human Services work. Additionally, discuss a brief history of the Human Services profession.   3. Compare and contrast Direct-Service strategies vs Direct-Service and Systems-Change srategies; including how they are relate as intervention strategies for Human Services work. Additionally, discuss two of each: ethical, professional and legal issues (six altogether), as described in the text. 4. Discuss for interviewing techniques and the stages of the Helping Interview. Additionally, elaborate on the attitudes, values and skills of the Human Services worker and the research and evaluation of the same. 5. Discuss what the Human Service worker should know about development; the growing child; and moral development. Analyze the conflicting views on the nature of Human nature as it relates to beliefs, ethical conflicts and conflicts caused by bureaucratic demands. 6. Discuss and elaborate on how the Social Welfare System’s program and policies regarding TANF, CTC and CCTC are impactful. Additionally, explain how poverty and income stability impact social needs; including three areas of the Homeless population. 7. Discuss two points of relevance of the DVD: “Legacies of Social Change to Social Reform, ethics, equal pay and poverty”. Compare and contrast life as you know it verses life for families in DVD Poverty in America Born With A Wooden Spoon.
