Topic 1: Hume on Causality
Explain Hume's views on causal reasoning and exactly what makes them appear to be so destructive. Then critically react. Think about questions like: is the account persuasive? Why or why not? Does the account have any particular good or bad consequences? Is the account destructive? Is there a way to mitigate its damage? What kind of justificatory story can he tell about causal reasoning? Etc. (Note: as usual, it is best to pick one central issue/question and deal with it in depth.)
