INTEGRATED MANAGEMENT PROJECT Order Description • Assessment Briefs This semester you will be focusin" rel="nofollow">ing your attention on writin" rel="nofollow">ing up your IMP 2 project work. Here are some helpful guidelin" rel="nofollow">ines. Assessment 1 is made up of two parts – Part 1 & Part 2. Submissions to BREO will be made together in" rel="nofollow">in one document, but with clearly marked sections – Part 1 & Part 2. Submission Deadlin" rel="nofollow">ine: Before 10am Friday 5th May 2017. PART 1: You will produce a report that: Identifies an issue in" rel="nofollow">in your own organisation that has a multiple and varied approaches to its resolution. This should be a current or impendin" rel="nofollow">ing but not a past issue. You will identify and in" rel="nofollow">integrate a range of theories and techniques drawn from multiple appropriate disciplin" rel="nofollow">ines from your MBA in" rel="nofollow">in the creation of appropriate solutions. Once you have framed the problem you will identify and discuss theories, models and paradigms related to the problem. Make sure that you look at the problem from different poin" rel="nofollow">ints of view and relate them to your learnin" rel="nofollow">ing from as many different units of the MBA. For example: • People - LMP, LP, MCI – how does your problem/ solution impact on the team & company? Performance, leadership, managin" rel="nofollow">ing creativity/in" rel="nofollow">innovation etc. • Fin" rel="nofollow">inancial aspect – AfL – How will your solution improve/ impact positively on the fin" rel="nofollow">inancial aspect of the company? • Marketin" rel="nofollow">ing – How does your problem/solution impact on the marketin" rel="nofollow">ing dimension? • Strategy – From the Strategy unit (Busin" rel="nofollow">iness Strategy) and from TCGC (locatin" rel="nofollow">ing your problem / organisation within" rel="nofollow">in the wider context of global busin" rel="nofollow">iness/ sector – macro-environmental impact – PESTEL, etc.) • Operations Management – How does the problem/solution impact on the supply chain" rel="nofollow">in, procurement and operational management issues? • Project management – Consider the models for managin" rel="nofollow">ing change and other project management theories or models. Can any of these be applied to your problem area? You may use the soft and hard systems approach within" rel="nofollow">in this context. Is there any other approach that would be appropriate? If so, present it (with appropriate referencin" rel="nofollow">ing) and explain" rel="nofollow">in how and why it is more suitable to the task at hand. This is not an exhaustive list and you may want to broaden the range of theories as you see fit. It is however most important to use an in" rel="nofollow">integrated approach rather than look at each dimension on its own. The theories around your strategic problem constitute around 80% of the literature reviewed. The rest – 20% - you can use to talk about soft, hard or alternative approaches to dealin" rel="nofollow">ing with the strategic problem. These proportions are purely for in" rel="nofollow">indicative purposes and not a strict measure. PART 2: You will produce a critical review of the literature of your work in" rel="nofollow">in Part A – compilation and in" rel="nofollow">integration of a range of theories and techniques drawn from multiple appropriate disciplin" rel="nofollow">ines from your MBA. You will do so by critically evaluatin" rel="nofollow">ing the concepts, theories, models, etc., used in" rel="nofollow">in Part 1 and by providin" rel="nofollow">ing a clear justification for their selection. This part of your assessment will reflect the debates in" rel="nofollow">in the literature about the concepts used. Assessment 2, Reflective Report (20% Weightin" rel="nofollow">ing) ? You will produce a reflective account that: Critically evaluates your capabilities at managin" rel="nofollow">ing the process of producin" rel="nofollow">ing the Project and reflects upon your development and future needs as a practitioner based on your learnin" rel="nofollow">ing durin" rel="nofollow">ing the Project.
