    Critically assess to what extent in view of the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the EU, the Court of Justice of the EU’s case-law, and EU Directives, Article 13 of the Proposal for a Directive on Copyright in the Digital Single Market entitled ‘use of protected content by information society service providers storing and giving access to large amounts of works and other subject-matter uploaded by their users’, strikes a fair balance between, on the one hand, the protection of copyright on the internet, and, on the other, the competing interests and rights at stake.
