Interactive non-linear narrative

Write in a paragraph of 3 to 5 sentences what you think you might like to do with your image.
Write in another 2nd paragraph also of 3 to 5 sentences why you want to do that, including what you think your
proposed image will "say" about digital media, or art in general, or social media, or advertising, or public space,
or some other related issue connected to the topics of this class.
Create an AD for a billboard and social media using Photoshop composed of images and/or graphics, but NO
TEXT that spells out a legible message. If you feel you must use text, please discuss your ideas with me early.
You must use Photoshop to produce this add; but you may use any other application that you wish to create or
derive your graphics/images, such as Illustrator.
You must make use of at least 4 different graphic or photographic elements unless an alternative has been
otherwise discussed with me.
You must make use of at least 1 adjustment layer with a functioning mask.
You may take an actually existing item and subvert it in some way.
Or, you can create something of your own as some sort of artistic, poetic, or political statement.
In the creation of this billboard, you should consider the political and poetic implications of the term,
détournement as defined by Guy Debord and the Situationist International.
Since this is a kind of proposal for a public project in 2 very different kinds of public spaces, consider exactly
where you want your ad to be and how does your concept respond to those spaces and places.
Consider deeply the similarities and differences for publishing an ad in digital spaces and in physical spaces.
Place your new “ad” in the image provided of the graphic of the billboard (provided in Blackboard), and adjust it
so that it fits the perspectival space of that drawing.
Consider at least 2 ACTUAL locations with signage which you photograph YOURSELF. Take photos of
billboards, large signs, or other forms of publicly displayed advertising using your phone or some other camera,
or find (large) photos online.
Using Photoshop, place your new “ad” (or ads if you create a series)in at least 2 of your photos of pre-existing
signage as well as a screenshot of a social media platform
Make certain you adjust the shape of your ad so that it fits properly in perspectival space, to give your viewers
a sense of how your “ad” may exist in real space(s).
You must NOT however distort your image: if need be, rearrange the elements in your design so that it fits in a
variety of spaces with different aspect ratios
To repeat, PLEASE NOTE: the ASPECT RATIO in your different locations and in the billboard graphic that I will
be giving you may change, so you will have to adjust your image to fit the correct scale WITHOUT
STRETCHING OR DISTORTING YOUR IMAGE!!!!!
