Go to the IDEA (International Dialects of English Archive) https://www.dialectsarchive.com/. Navigate the
website to become familiar with its features. Then select three different dialects from different parts of the world
(excluding the U.S. and U.K.) and answer the following questions for each of the dialects you selected:

1. Using the IPA, identify three characteristics of the dialects you selected.
2. How might the social characteristics of the speaker influence the way that they use language? Explain.
3. Look again at the parts of the world where the dialects you selected are spoken. How might outer events in
   that part of the world impact the inner structure of the respective dialects that you selected? (Choose at least
   one event per dialect.)
