  1. Is there room for innovation in the tax industry.

A. Yes, most of the innovation that would come from this industry would be how we market our services. I am constantly trying to figure a simpler or even more creative way to deliver the product without being too gimmicky. If there is too much gimmick in the promos people may not take you seriously.

  1. How do you encourage innovation in your company at this level?
    A. At this point, there is nothing really structured. I offer incentives for ideas that I use that creates growth in the company.
  2. How important is the innovation aspect of the survival of a small business like yours?
    A. In order for my company to survive, I have to keep figuring out different ways to keep people coming to me not just during tax season but year-round. That is a tough task but companies like mine either grow or disappear.
  3. Have you considered innovation before our conversation?
    A. Yes, I have considered the idea but it wasn't a priority. I believe now that i may need to take a more structured approach to get ahead. I believe that technology may be the key to my success in that area.
