Intro to Asia

Outline types of methodological prisms. Discuss their historical documents, material culture, literary fiction, and visual narrative. How does our understanding of history and culture change when the mode of interpretation is different? Which method do you find gets us closest to a “true” portrait of the peoples, places, and events under analysis? Address the advantages and disadvantages of all four types of sources, you must also include a detailed case study of at least one topic that we have approached through multiple prisms of interpretation.
