Identify an issue that affects an intimate relationship, examine what proponents and opponents of the issue have to say about it, and fact-check their claims based on research. After deciding on an issue, start exploring websites, newspapers, magazines, and other media sources that discuss the issue. You'll need to make sure you find information from sources that support the issue as well as those that oppose the issue. As you are reading each source think critically about the way the information is being presented. What type of language is the source using to prove its point? Is it using hate language or shaming language? What are its strategies to persuade the reader/listener? How does the source make you feel? What parts of the source do you agree with? What do you disagree with? How does it fit in your woridview? How does it not fit into your woridview? Once you have gone over several sources from the proponents and opponents, you'll type up a 2-page, double-spaced, 12 pt. font paper that summarizes what you found. The first paragraph should briefly introduce the issue. The second paragraph should be your initial belief about the issue, including why you believe that way. The remaining paper should be split evenly between summarizing the proponents' and opponents' material, including a summary of the previous questions you asked yourself when reviewing the sources.
