Pain: There are a number of descriptions of Ivan Ilyich's experience of pain in this story. How does Tolstoy describe his pain? How does Ivan Ilyich experience it? How do his family members, friends, acquaintances, and servants understand his pain?
What do you think of these descriptions of pain? Are they accurate based on your own experiences or what you have seen in friends or family members who have experienced pain?
