John Cheever′s ″Reunion″

In Cheever's "Reunion," does Charlie accept or reject his father as the person he discovered him to be? Things to consider: If he accepts him, why did he tell us that was the last time he saw his father? Why was he concerned about becoming like him? Before going to numerous restaurants, why does he refer to his father's limitations? What limitations does he accept? If he rejects him, why does he make no value judgments on his father's rude conduct? Why does he tell his father he is "terribly sorry'?
