In a paper of no fewer than three pages using APA, you will detail each of the four Room Environment Enhancements.
For each enhancement:
State the goal such as increasing vocabulary, enhancing listening skills, increasing phonemic awareness, etc. Note: One of the enhancements you suggest must be have a multicultural focus. (CLO 2 & 4)
Explain the rationale of why it is important for the children in the classroom you observed to experience these skills, concepts, and activities. Support with course material. (CLO 2, 3 & 4)
Identify the materials to be used, and the strategies involved in their use. (CLO3)
Identify at least 2 standards and skills from the CA Preschool Foundations Volume 1 that align with the goal. (CLO 3 & 4)
Describe how the enhancements could be introduced to parents to assist in bridging the learning from the classroom to the home. (CLO 4)
Make sure to use the CA Preschool Learning Foundations and other course materials to support the need for each of the four enhancements.
Examples of enhancements can include adding or enlarging a book corner, flannel board stories, specific puppets, item labeling, creation of a writing center, dramatic play area enhancements, block area enhancements, art center items to connect literacy experiences, enlarging on songs and finger plays, etc.
