Sample Solution
In my future classroom, I plan to use reflective journals as a way to monitor progress of learning. This strategy involves the teacher providing students with topics or questions to reflect on about their learning in class. Reflective journals can help teachers assess student's understanding and level of engagement with the material as well as how they are processing and applying what they are learning. Journaling allows for an informal but consistent method of tracking student's progress over time; it encourages critical thinking, improves writing skills, and promotes reflection which is important for students at all ages. Additionally, it provides the teacher with additional insight into what is working in the classroom and what areas may need more attention or further explanation. By utilizing reflective journaling in my future classroom, I hope to gain greater insight into each individual student’s academic journey while also promoting self-reflection and growth within my students.
