Leavitt and Janis theories

  Order Description     • Both Leavitt and Janis were writing in the 1970s and projecting ideas for the use of groups in the future. Think about work groups within your own organisation. Have Leavitt and Janis’ theories about groups and groupthink held true? In what instances can you identify adverse effects of groupthink on decisions within your organisation? Where have you seen evidence of groups working against group norms and/or against groupthink? • Generate a list of 2-4 individuals from your organisation to utilise as a work group to assist you with your workplace-based problem for the CAL Project. What is the potential for groupthink among these individuals? What risks to the problem-solving and decision-making processes will groupthink pose? How will you work to correct problems arising from groupthink?
