Libertarian Theory, Authoritarian Theory, and Social Responsibility Theory

      Libertarian Theory, Authoritarian Theory, and Social Responsibility Theory are three traditional normative philosophies of the mass media. Propose your own normative philosophy that you think should be added to this list. With what initial assumptions (or postulates) does your new normative philosophy begin? (You should be able to identify at least three of these assumptions.) What are the logical, practical implications of your beginning assumptions? That is: How do the assumptions affect the manner in which individuals are viewed? How do the assumptions affect the manner in which the state is viewed? How do the assumptions affect the manner in which the relationship between individuals and the state is viewed? How to the assumptions affect the manner in which the role of the mass media is viewed? Why should your new philosophy be added to the list of three traditional theories?   How would your fourth philosophy complement the other three?
