Literary Analysis Paper

Literary Analysis Paper Fin" rel="nofollow">inal Paper Due: April 10, 2017 For the second paper of the class, I am askin" rel="nofollow">ing you to do a close-readin" rel="nofollow">ing and in" rel="nofollow">interpretation of one of the books we have discussed so far in" rel="nofollow">in class. I am lookin" rel="nofollow">ing for you to present to me your in" rel="nofollow">interpretation of how the entire novel, or at least some portion of the novel should be read. This in" rel="nofollow">interpretation should be significant in" rel="nofollow">in that it affects the meanin" rel="nofollow">ing and message that the novel/author is attemptin" rel="nofollow">ing to present to the audience. I am NOT lookin" rel="nofollow">ing for you to merely repeat back to me thin" rel="nofollow">ings that I, or others, have said in" rel="nofollow">in class. Although it is is acceptable to draw on they thin" rel="nofollow">ings mentioned in" rel="nofollow">in discussion as a startin" rel="nofollow">ing place, the bulk of this paper should be YOUR in" rel="nofollow">interpretation and draw from your own personal ideas and reactions to the text. It may be helpful to thin" rel="nofollow">ink back to the second day of class and consider some of the critical viewpoin" rel="nofollow">ints that were presented as means for lookin" rel="nofollow">ing at literature, such as colonialism, femin" rel="nofollow">inism, gender studies, queer theory, historicism, and New Criticism. Although you do not need to speciifcally use the terms in" rel="nofollow">in your paper, they may provide you with ways of thin" rel="nofollow">inkin" rel="nofollow">ing about the text that will in" rel="nofollow">inspire what you write. This paper should be closely grounded in" rel="nofollow">in the actual text of the novel you are examin" rel="nofollow">inin" rel="nofollow">ing. Specific examples and quotes from the text are essential to wriitng this paper well. As a general rule of thumb, there should be at least one quote from the novel for every body paragraph or idea you present. I will be gradin" rel="nofollow">ing primarily on the quality and clarity of the argument you are makin" rel="nofollow">ing. The best papers will be attemptin" rel="nofollow">ing to make a detailed and focused argument about in" rel="nofollow">interpretin" rel="nofollow">ing the novel that goes beyond simple surface details. Requirements: 1500-1700 words (approximatley 5-6 pages), double-spaced, in" rel="nofollow">in Times New Roman 12pt font, and stapled or paper-clipped. All citations should be in" rel="nofollow">in MLA style and a Works Cited page should be in" rel="nofollow">included as well.
