Conduct a search for research articles in support of the MSN capstone project using professional databases, such as CINAHL, ProQuest, PubMed, and Cochrane Library. Select a minimum of ten (10) evidence-based research articles related to your capstone project. This may include articles related to your topic, population, intervention, and/or outcome. Non-research articles, such as meta-analyses and literature reviews may be included but cannot exceed four (4) entries. You will use the literature review matrix (table) to organize the research findings.
Step 1: Record your search process and results for each search attempt and/or database in a Word document. This includes:
Library database
Seach terms
Boolean operators
Limiting criteria (i.e., year of publication, language, type of study, peer-reviewed, etc.)
Results number of articles generated with each search, number reviewed, and number selected for use.
Step 2: Complete the Literature Review Matrix. Use the Literature Review Matrix provided below in the Assignment Resources.
Be specific and use details from the article to support your analysis.
Include defining attributes and/or unique characteristics of the article.
Highlight findings that relate to/reinforce your capstone project plan.

Step 2: Literature Review Matrix
Tips for Completing the Literature Review Matrix:
- Be Specific: Provide detailed information about the study's methods, findings, and implications.
- Highlight Key Findings: Identify the most relevant findings that support your capstone project.
- Consider the Quality of Evidence: Evaluate the study design, sample size, and statistical analysis.
- Address Limitations: Discuss any limitations of the studies, such as small sample size or lack of generalizability.
- Synthesize Findings: Identify common themes and discrepancies across studies.
By carefully selecting and analyzing relevant research articles, you can build a strong foundation for your capstone project. Remember to continuously refine your search strategy and incorporate new evidence as it becomes available.
