Attend a live jazz performance and write about the experience. What is the venue? Is it a club setting, or a concert hall? What is the date of the performance? Who are the performers? what is the instrumentation? Give some biographical information about the performers. What music did they play? Was the music primarily jazz standards or original compositions? Supply any other information that you think relevant. Students should be aware that this assignment may require advance planning, and/or travel to a location where live jazz can be be seen. However, there are often jazz concerts at community and state colleges, and the Community Concert Association often brings jazz acts to small towns around Colorado.
