Love and Kindness

Love and kindness are two important character strengths of humanity. Love occurs in reciprocal relationships, whereas kindness can be shown to anyone whether or not they are kind in return. The research of John Gottman (as cited in Lopez, Pedrotti, & Snyder, 2015, pp. 341–344) reveals the need for appreciation, a form of kindness, in order to sustain positive loving relationships.
•What is the "magic ratio" defined by Gottman for sustaining a healthy relationship?
•What types of positive interactions are you most comfortable providing in your relationships?
•What types of positive interactions do you most appreciate from someone in a loving relationship?
•Based on this information, what steps could you take to increase your chances for flourishing relationships?
