Requirements
- Study Plan In this assignment you will choose a topic from the list below. Briefly state what your study plan is and write down the resources you will draw on. I will provide one reference as a starting point for each topic. You are encouraged to search for more resources, such as lecture notes, textbooks, and academic journal articles (news articles are in general not to be used). The study plan is due on Feb 13 (Thursday) at 11:59 pm. Worth 10% of the grade. If you want to study on a topic outside the list, please send an email to me or talk with me during office hours before the due date.
- Final Report Final reports reflect students’ inputs in their independent study. I expect this piece of work to resemble a literature review/summary of what you have read and studied on the topic you chose. Strike a balance between depth and breadth of coverage. Use of an academic citation style (e.g., APA) is optional, but a list of references should be attached at the end of the report. I will occasionally run plagiarism checks. If copying is identified, the report will be given a zero grade. The report is due on Mar 19 (Thursday) at 11:59 pm. Worth 90% of the grade.
- Format and Submission Please upload the files (in MS Word extensions or pdf) on Canvas. Late work will not be accepted. Contents should be single-spaced, in a 12-point font. The study plan is about one or two pages long, and the final report is 10 pages long at a maximum excluding figures, tables, and references.
