Case Study #3 – Questionnaire Design (15% of Total Grade)
Your boss, Mr. John Hughes wants to test your knowledge of questionnaire design. He has asked you to complete the following individually:
1. Create an Objectives Overview with the following information:
a) Create a Management Decision Problem for any product or service that you currently use.
b) Develop and State a Research Problem Statement (based on your Management Decision Problem)
c) Develop and State one (1) Research Objective (What your research is looking to answer?)
d) Develop and State one (1) Hypothesis Statement (both the Null and Alternative)
e) State all independent variables that you will be measuring
2. Design a questionnaire to be administered in field (i.e. face-to-face or online).
a. Prepare a questionnaire with the following:
I. 1 psychographic question (i.e. interests, hobbies, opinions, etc)
II. 2 questions using non-comparative scales (i.e. Likert, Semantic and/or Stapel)
III. 1 open ended question (i.e. suggestions for improvement)
IV. 2 multi-select question (i.e. list of musical artists and ask to check off all the artists they listen to)
V. 4 closed-ended question of your choosing (i.e. comparative and/or non-comparative)
3. Indicate the primary scale (i.e. nominal, ordinal, interval, and ratio) for each question.
4. Justify how each question will support the answering of the Research Problem Statement
