Marriage and cohabitation

The chapter identifies incentives, social pressure, and imitation as three predominant reasons to marry. Which of these seems most relevant to you or people
you know (and why)? Additionally, some people have made the argument that cohabitation is a precursor to marriage and others suggest that cohabitation is
becoming a marriage alternative. Argue for BOTH sides using evidence from the text and your own perspective. Cite support from the text. How does
women’s level of education impact the relationship status of cohabitating couples? Finally, based on what you have learned in the chapter, what do you
consider the most important benefit of marriage?
