o investigate several current block chain use cases and
analyze them using enterprise models. For this purpose it should be reverted to an
established enterprise modeling framework incl. a tool-based environment (e.g. the
ADOxx Horus Method, Business Engineering Navigator, MEMO, ARIS, SOM or another
one that you are familiar with). The analysis should include aspects such as the
strategy, goals and possible measurements (KPIs) of the use case, the processes and
transactions conducted, and the technical infrastructure and services. The thesis should
then give a comparison of the different use cases based on the derived models and
highlight which aspects are important to consider for blockchain projects using
enterprise models and which aspects may not be covered yet in the models but should
be integrated in future enterprise modeling approaches.
The idea of this topic is to find already existing, real-life use cases for blockchain
technologies, e.g. in the financial domain (e.g. https://element36.io/), the IoT domain,
real estate or other domains and analyze them using different types of enterprise
models, e.g. concerning the business transactions in the form of process models, the
architecture of the application in the form of system models (e.g. using UML diagrams),
the data processed by the application in the form of data models (e.g. ER) etc.
Ideally, it can thereby be investigated how the use case would have worked in a
traditional setting (i.e. without blockchains) and how the introduction of blockchain
technology changed the use case.
You should discuss 5 cases. Each case should be thoroughly analyzed and described
using enterprise models. If I remember correctly, you wanted to choose UML. Thus, in
the proposal you should state, which UML diagrams (e.g. activity, class, sequence
diagrams seem suitable, but others can be included as well) you want to apply for
describing which information parts (e.g. business processes, data models, IT
architectures, services, communication etc.) and how you will get the information
necessary.
The thesis should be 100 pages. You have to use LaTeX for writing the thesis as this
software is for free and automatically takes care of the correct citation of the references.
