Multigenre project
Multigenre project
Works that have been read are
The Strange case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson
The Importance of bein" rel="nofollow">ing Earnest by Oscar Wilde
The Speckled Band by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
This project will be divided in" rel="nofollow">into two parts: a digital project and a written explain" rel="nofollow">ination of the choices you made when creatin" rel="nofollow">ing your digital project. For the digital project, you have four choices.
All of these can be completed with a desktop or laptop computer and average technology skills.
Digital Component
Choose one of the four:
1. Create a Fakebook page for an author or character we discussed this semester. Have fun but be accurate. http://www.classtools.net/FB/home-page
At the top of the profile, in" rel="nofollow">insert:
Picture (how you thin" rel="nofollow">ink he/she looks)
Name
Cover image
2. Insert a text box for the followin" rel="nofollow">ing in" rel="nofollow">in the “about” section:
Where the character/author spent most of his/her life
Whether he/she was sin" rel="nofollow">ingle, divorced, or married
Date of birth (make an educated guess if none available)
Hometown and country
3. List six people that the character/author would have been friends with on Facebook. This can be a direct relationship or friendship or other authors or characters that this person may not have
known but would have been friends with. Make sure any in" rel="nofollow">indirect connections are justifiable.
4. Make up six groups the character/author would have join" rel="nofollow">ined.
5. List one school he/she attended and one place he/she worked.
6. Make up ten wall posts the character/author would have made. Each should in" rel="nofollow">include additional comments and likes.
2. Create a Google Earth tour of places a character or author visited. You’ll need to download the Google Earth plugin" rel="nofollow">in (earth.google.com) to your computer and then go to the tour builder site
(https://tourbuilder.withgoogle.com/). Include at least 10 locations complete with a photo and adequate description.
3. Create a Bitstrip comic of a scene from a story we read in" rel="nofollow">in class. Bitstrip can be downloaded to Apple and Andriod devices by visitin" rel="nofollow">ing the App Store or Play Store. Revise the language of the
scene for a modern audience or add dialogue if there origin" rel="nofollow">inally was none. The strip should in" rel="nofollow">include at least 10 frames.
4. Record a mock in" rel="nofollow">interview with a character or author. You can do this usin" rel="nofollow">ing an animated video site like Powtoon (http://www.powtoon.com) or by havin" rel="nofollow">ing a friend play the character or author and
recordin" rel="nofollow">ing your in" rel="nofollow">interview on a recordin" rel="nofollow">ing device. Include at least 5 questions and 5 answers. The in" rel="nofollow">interview should be engagin" rel="nofollow">ing and reveal somethin" rel="nofollow">ing about the character’s in" rel="nofollow">inner thoughts, motivations,
and desires. Thin" rel="nofollow">ink “Barbara Walters Special” or Oprah.
Written Component
In addition to your digital project, draft and submit a written explanation of the choices you made when creatin" rel="nofollow">ing the digital project. The purpose of this written explanation is to show that you
used a thorough understandin" rel="nofollow">ing of the work you chose as your topic to create your project. This is your opportunity to convin" rel="nofollow">ince your audience that your project was created usin" rel="nofollow">ing evidence from your
primary and secondary sources.
Be sure to use specific evidence from your primary and secondary sources (in" rel="nofollow">includin" rel="nofollow">ing some direct quotin" rel="nofollow">ing) to illustrate the accuracy of the in" rel="nofollow">information in" rel="nofollow">in your digital project. When you quote or
paraphrase source in" rel="nofollow">information, be sure to cite (both parenthetically and in" rel="nofollow">in the works cited). The written component should be at least three pages, double spaced, followin" rel="nofollow">ing MLA page setup.
What You Will Turn In
You will need to submit your multimedia component by submittin" rel="nofollow">ing a URL lin" rel="nofollow">ink. You may need to upload the project to the Internet to do this (see me if you are not sure how to do this). Submit your
written component as a Word document submitted to the dropbox.
Is this somethin" rel="nofollow">ing that you can do?
