My internship at Pharmacy ABC was a positive experience to me. This practice site has great receptive staffs and
pharmacists, and they were very welcoming. There was a lot to do on site, but I was motivated and satisfied.
Dr. X is highly respected and loved by patients and customers because he genuinely cares about them. I noted he
has excellent communication skills and good sense of humor with patients, customers, sales representatives, and
staffs. I liked how he asks patients questions to ensure they are well taken care of. He also is very good at making his
students think beyond what is in front of them prior to dispensing. He asked me pharmacology questions or
medication side effects questions prior to dispensing (just like it is a simulation activity and this encourages critical
thinking his questions caused me to do my own thinking) and I can never forget what I learnt because of his
explanations. Moreover, I could sense that he is a life-long learner pharmacist who is up-to-date and wellknowledgeable. He has tough character he is strict sometimes, yet he is an excellent teacher.
Dr. Y, his wife, is an excellent teacher and one can tell that she has been doing this for years. She offers constructive
feedback for everything I do and as a student I really appreciated that. She was a great help, and I learned a lot from
her.
Dr. X and Dr. Y are great example of exceptional preceptors that can be professional, knowledgeable, and friendly at
the same time, which is what I am looking for. I wish they were my preceptors for a clinical course because they
demonstrate caring attitude and facilitate good and respectful learning environment.
