Oedipus the King

One of the central problems critics have raised in discussing Sophocles' Oedipus the King concerns the question of Oedipus' guilt. Many critics have asked whether or not we should view Oedipus as guilty, and therefore whether or not we should view his punishment as just. In your essay, you will find a critical source on this question with which you disagree, and argue why the critic is mistaken. In doing this, you may bring in your other critical sources to support your view, but your argument should be driven by a clear central thesis.
