Organizational Design module
This report is to be completed in" rel="nofollow">individually.
For this semester long project you will choose one of the organizations from the Fortune 500 companies or a local company such as a large departmental store,

manufacturin" rel="nofollow">ing company or a non profit organization such as a hospital or a University and study it all semester to give you an in" rel="nofollow">insight in" rel="nofollow">into the way real world
organizations work. No two students will select the same company.
There will be a list of Fortune 500 companies for you to select from on iLearn. Please write your name in" rel="nofollow">in the allocated column to reserve the company. You will need to
collect the specified in" rel="nofollow">information as required in" rel="nofollow">in the organisation design module on iLearn and answer questions pertain" rel="nofollow">inin" rel="nofollow">ing to the company selected each week. Each
module will require you to consider the ethical, sustain" rel="nofollow">inability and human rights dimension of your decision. By the end of the semester by completin" rel="nofollow">ing each module you
will have a clear picture of how organizations operate and how they deal with problems and contin" rel="nofollow">ingencies and understand the ethical dilemmas of change management.
In order to do this you will have to contact the owner or manager of the company for gatherin" rel="nofollow">ing in" rel="nofollow">information through face-to-face in" rel="nofollow">interviews and through their published
sources. You will then summarize your fin" rel="nofollow">indin" rel="nofollow">ings and produce a written report.
You will gain" rel="nofollow">in a rich picture of the way the company operates by doin" rel="nofollow">ing your research personally. The organization has to be big enough to offer in" rel="nofollow">insight in" rel="nofollow">into the way
organisations work and must employ at least 20 people and have 3 levels in" rel="nofollow">in its hierarchy. No extension of time for the Individual Report will be granted. Students who
have not submitted the task prior to the deadlin" rel="nofollow">ine will be awarded a mark of 0 for the task, except for cases in" rel="nofollow">in which an application for disruption of studies is made
and approved. 10% penalty will be applied for every 24-hour delay of submission. This penalty does not apply for cases in" rel="nofollow">in which an application
for Disruptions to Studies is made and approved.

This Assessment Task relates to the followin" rel="nofollow">ing Learnin" rel="nofollow">ing Outcomes:

of organisational structures and management practice

? Identify the relationship between busin" rel="nofollow">iness models and busin" rel="nofollow">iness strategies
from a human rights perspective.
? Develop understandin" rel="nofollow">ing and knowledge of the different busin" rel="nofollow">iness models and
structures, and apply organisation design concepts to case studies of multin" rel="nofollow">inational corporations
The Individual Report of 4000 words +/- 10% (The word count in" rel="nofollow">includes in" rel="nofollow">introduction, body and conclusion, but not references or appendices) is to be submitted at the end
of the semester after completin" rel="nofollow">ing all the organisational design modules for the 13 weeks.
You are required to analyse the Organisational design structure through the weekly modules and develop and recommend an appropriate structure and strategy to suit its
current position. This new busin" rel="nofollow">iness model should enable the firm to implement the novel recommended busin" rel="nofollow">iness strategy.
Research – at least 10 academic journal articles (references) are required to support your analysis, strategy, model and the busin" rel="nofollow">iness solutions to the weekly
questions.

regards to certain" rel="nofollow">in questions just please make an educated guess with reference to a source in" rel="nofollow">in some cases. Also attached in" rel="nofollow">in the rubric and the recommended format.
The company I have chosen is Qube Logistics. It is an Australian based logistics company.
