Throughout the course, you are asked to engage with the content, think critically about it,
and apply it to your own experiences or observations. These assignments are intended for you to
delve deeper into the material either through application, critical analysis, and perhaps even
some additional research into certain topics that interest you. These assignments are intentionally
flexible in order to allow you to write about a topic that interests you most. See the class
schedule in the syllabus for topics covered on each date.
Assignments should be brief (only 2-5 pages in length) and should deal with your
personal observations and/or experiences with organizational behavior. Regardless of whether
you have ever worked, you have had experiences in organizations, perhaps as a volunteer, or
member of a sports team, school, choir or band, place of worship, etc. and you may draw upon
any of these experiences for the purposes of these assignments. Alternatively, you may apply
course concepts to other observations outside of class, such as news or social media stories, TED
talks, or other inspiration.
