1. Choose one of the articles posted.. The article I chose is: Personality and Health, Subjective Well-Being, and Longevity Howard S. Friedman, Margaret L. Kern, and Chandra A. Reynolds University of California, Riverside" 2. Read the article carefully. Make note of connections between the article and the book. These connections may include shared vocabulary and concepts; similar goals for patient care and/or medical practice; corroboration of research findings; suggestions of areas for further inquiry, etc. 3. Craft a 4-page paper that includes the following components: a. Introduction that briefly outlines the main connections between the article and the book, and prepares the reader for the information that will follow. b. Summary of the article, including definitions/explanations of any key terms you will use in your comparison c. Explanation of connections between the article and the book. This section should cover all of the points you outlined in the introductory paragraph, in much greater detail. Use specific details and/or brief quotes (with citation) from both the article and the book to support your statements. Make sure your explanations are clear and comprehensive. d. Conclusion that reiterates, in concise and accurate language, the main points of your paper. Personal reflections/insights and additional concepts from class discussions can be woven throughout the paper if they are relevant and well supported by definitions, information, explanations, etc. Please note that for all of the above to fit into 4 pages, each section will be relatively brief. You can follow this rough guide, if it is helpful: 1/2 page each for introduction and conclusion; 1 page for article summary; 2 pages for connections. Formatting guidelines: Times New Roman, size 12, double-spaced, 1-inch margins all sides. No cover page. Name and page #s in heading. In-text citations and references in APA format.
