PESTLE and SWOT analysis of the presidential transition team

U.S. President-Elect Joe Biden has a tough job ahead of him. He has to lead a divided nation through COVID-19, social unrest, political conspiracy narratives, economic

distress and many more challenges.

Your task for this homework assignment is to conduct a PESTLE and SWOT analysis of the presidential transition team. You do not have to conduct a formal VRIO analysis

for this exercise, but when creating your SWOT analysis, I recommend informally:

  1. Carrying over major PESTLE threats (3-4) into the “T” section of the SWOT analysis.
  2. Carrying over minor PESTLE threats (3-4) into the “W” section of the SWOT analysis.
  3. Identifying several (6-8) strategic “business” assets that the Biden-Harris team have at their disposal and including them in the “S” section.
  4. Identifying several (6-8) “unused competitive advantages” that the team has and including them in the “O” section.
  5. Identifying a few additional (3-4) “competitive disadvantages” and adding them to the “T” section of the SWOT analysis.
  6. Identifying a few additional (3-4) “temporary competitive advantages” or “competitive parity” factors and adding them to the “W” section of the SWOT analysis.
