Philosophy of Life

Henry David Thoreau once said that the ideal location of a school should be at the foot of a mountain because then the students would be reminded of that tremendous mountain inside themselves which must be climbed if they would find self-realization. Just as Thoreau, when confined in jail, has liberty to explore what he really is (the composite of his experiences, past and future), take some time away from external interruptions to consider the following questions: Who am I? What do I believe? Then, write a well-organized and thoroughly developed essay explaining your “philosophy of life.” The Intro paragraph must have a general metaphor to tie the entire paper together including a clear and concise thesis mentioning the three main topics to be discussed in the paper The Sub topics must all be explained further in each body paragraph. CONCEPT OF THE INDIVIDUAL (First Body Paragraph) • Rights and responsibilities • Role in society • Success, failure KNOWLEDGE AND WISDOM (Second Body Paragraph) • How is it obtained • How should it be used • Education ABSTRACT CONCEPTS (Third Body Paragraph) • Love • Hatred • Happiness
