ANSWER EACH CHAPTER IN SEPARATE PARAGRAPHS NOT ALL TOGETHER
100 WORDS OR MORE CHAPTER7
Please explain why it is reasonable to expect policymakers (and other family policy professionals, such as advisers, therapists, etc.) to be aware of (know) their own biases, their own theories and assumptions about families? Give examples that show how these biases, theories, and assumptions influence their policy decisions.
200 WORDS OR MORE CHAPTER8
What evidence could be used to persuade a group of policymakers to fund a family-centered program to reduce juvenile delinquency in your community?
To answer this question: imagine that you are writing (and please, do it in a form of) a letter to your state legislator. For example,
Dear Senator Elckom,
I am writing to you to ask you to sponsor family-centered legislation that would allow my community to target three critical issues of juvenile delinquency.
(Note: Students do not need to find an exact name of the exact legislator, yet they are free to do so if they choose to find exact person/legislator).
In this letter, please give three (3) examples (forget not to do proper citations) of research studies that provide positive evidence for a program in the following order:
(a) What issue do you want to target to reduce juvenile crime?
(b) What design of a family-centered program could be offered in your community to solve the issue? In other words, what the program could consist of in your community? What makes it a "Family"-centered program to reduce juvenile crime?
(c) How a similar program performed in real life (research results) provided (what?) compelling evidence of its effectiveness to reduce juvenile crime?
