POLITICAL ARGUMENT

Few of us enjoy being stereotyped or having our deeply held convictions ridiculed, and yet we see this happen so often in the public sphere. Politicians reduce one another's positions to silliness, and advertisers make wild claims about their products. While they are attempting to engage in one of the fundamentals of argument, the art of persuasion, they frequently do not do so ethically or reasonably. You, however, are being asked to reach a little deeper than that as you think through nuanced issues with maturity and argue thoughtful positions ethically and responsibly, using reason and evidence.
