Write a 500-550 word essay, using the MLA format. In the introduction, give a brief summary of the plot in three sentences, answering the following: What is the plot? What is the conflict? What is the resolution OR who does the resolution affect the most? The thesis statement must be clear, as this will help give direction to the paper. Support your arguments/assertions with solid textual evidence, and cite/document same. 1.Even though the husband, Samuel, dies, the play does NOT seem tragic. Explain why this is true. 2.Some would say, “What goes around, comes around,” is one of the themes of the play. Defend or dispute this assertion. Lynn Nottage uses humor to shed light on a very serious issue in our society. What is this issue, and why did the playwright use humor? Give examples to support your assertion.
