Population at risk
Part II Problem Analysis: Students will submit a 6-8 page paper that demonstrates critical analysis of the community problem and the impact upon the population-at-risk identified in" rel="nofollow">in the in" rel="nofollow">introduction. The paper will address part II and should show understandin" rel="nofollow">ing of the population-at-risk, the problem or issue within" rel="nofollow">in the community, resources and programs that attempt to address the problem, and macro roles and ethical responsibilities of social workers to advocate and empower the population-at-risk to address the problem. Students will discuss the results of the literature search and present in" rel="nofollow">information about the problem and how the literature in" rel="nofollow">informs their critical analysis (2-3 empirical sources are required). Part II: Problem Analysis
1.Literature Search:
1.For the problem identified, complete a literature search and fin" rel="nofollow">ind 2-3 empirical journal articles (peer reviewed) that in" rel="nofollow">inform you about that problem. For example, if you choose human traffickin" rel="nofollow">ing as a problem local to your community, your literature search will focus on the larger issue of human traffickin" rel="nofollow">ing in" rel="nofollow">in general.
2.Discuss the scope and prevalence of the problem based on in" rel="nofollow">information from the literature.
3.Identify the theoretical perspective (if any) discussed in" rel="nofollow">in the articles chosen.
1.Macro Programs and Resources, and
1.What macro programs are currently used to address this problem in" rel="nofollow">in your local community?
2.Select one program and identify the mission of the program, whether it is a primary or secondary settin" rel="nofollow">ing, and the assets and resources offered.
3.Social Work Roles and Ethical Responsibilities 1.If you were a social worker in" rel="nofollow">in that program, discuss your macro roles related to the problem and population-at-risk.
2.Within" rel="nofollow">in those roles, identify and describe ethical responsibility to the broader society and specific challenges you may face with regard to cultural competence.
4.Empowerment 1.Discuss aspects of empowerment in" rel="nofollow">includin" rel="nofollow">ing personal empowerment, social empowerment, social support networks, and ways to foster the empowerment of the at risk population within" rel="nofollow">in the community.
2.Include in" rel="nofollow">in your discussion resiliency, strengths.
Technical Writin" rel="nofollow">ing
The quality of the paper must demonstrate college level in" rel="nofollow">includin" rel="nofollow">ing the quality of writin" rel="nofollow">ing (well-organized, adherence to APA Format, use of headin" rel="nofollow">ings and subheadin" rel="nofollow">ings, in" rel="nofollow">informative title, clear thesis with support, in" rel="nofollow">interestin" rel="nofollow">ing, no spellin" rel="nofollow">ing or grammatical mistakes) and the quality of the paper’s appearance (submitted in" rel="nofollow">in publishable form).
