How will you know that a positive school climate exists? Two things you can look for - observe how people in the school interact and look at the school’s physical environment. Do the teachers and students look happy to be at school? Are they treating each other with respect? Are the school’s premises clean and orderly? Are the students attentive and engaged during class?
Considering the questions above, what do you have the power to control in your school’s climate? What do you have the power to control in your classroom? How do they (school climate and classroom climate) influence each other?
