In this paper, analyze your experience in the negotiation you have conducted in class(Sweetshop)
The paper should not be a detailed report about everything that happened in the negotiation. The goal is for you to describe your perceptions and significant insights you gained from this negotiation experience. Focus on analysis and insights!
Below are several questions and issues to consider when writing your post-negotiation analysis. This list is not exhaustive but offers a good starting point.
What were your goals going into the negotiation? What were the key events (i.e., a brief overview)?
What critical factors (including culture) affected how the negotiation proceeded and the outcome? What can you say about these factors, in general?
What did you learn in this negotiation? What course concepts from readings, debriefs, and lectures help enrich your understanding of your experience in this negotiation?
What did you learn about yourself? What did you do well? What did you struggle with? What would you change in future negotiations? What would you do again in future negotiations?
How did this negotiation differ from or was similar to prior negotiations you’ve done?
A high-quality post-negotiation analysis is one that tries to step back from the negotiation and identifies key events and processes, incorporates course concepts (from readings, lectures, and discussions) to help structure the analysis, and is well written. A common mistake is focusing too much on the narrative (i.e., what happened) and not enough on the analysis (i.e., why it happened and what you learned).
