POWER AND JUSTICE
POWER AND JUSTICE
Mediation models are prevalent in" rel="nofollow">in nearly all areas of management research. Structural Equation Modelin" rel="nofollow">ing (SEM) has been often used as an analytical approach for mediation (theory) testin" rel="nofollow">ing. This Case Assignment contain" rel="nofollow">ins eight questions. To be able to address those questions you are asked to read the Williams et al., (2009) article on structural equation modelin" rel="nofollow">ing (certain" rel="nofollow">in pages as it is specified in" rel="nofollow">in the readin" rel="nofollow">ing material list), the Bauer et al., (2006) article that presents work that has examin" rel="nofollow">ined procedural justice as a mediator of the relationship between in" rel="nofollow">information privacy and outcome favorability, and test takin" rel="nofollow">ing motivation, organizational attraction, and in" rel="nofollow">intentions toward the organization; and the Colquitt et al., (2001) review article on justice, its dimensions, criteria, and effects on key organizational outcomes.
Accurately in" rel="nofollow">interpret SEM results and create an alternative structural model.
Assignment Expectations- Please Refer to the 3 articles provided
1. For study 1 in" rel="nofollow">in Bauer et al., (2006) article, in" rel="nofollow">indicate how many in" rel="nofollow">indicators each latent variable has. Please provide a detailed answer and in" rel="nofollow">include the names of the in" rel="nofollow">indicators and the variables, and explain" rel="nofollow">in the conceptual differences between them.
2. What are the problems associated with usin" rel="nofollow">ing items as in" rel="nofollow">indicators of latent variables? Please in" rel="nofollow">indicate at least three problems. Do Bauer et al., (2006) use items as in" rel="nofollow">indicators of latent variables? Please explain" rel="nofollow">in.
3. Draw a STRUCTURAL path diagram that represents the relationship between the variables in" rel="nofollow">in the first study (study 1) in" rel="nofollow">in Bauer et al., (2006) article. What is the data on which you base the values that appear in" rel="nofollow">in this structural model?
4. In Bauer et al., (2006) article, what do the various fit measures that are used in" rel="nofollow">in study 1 and 2 ultimately reflect?
5. In Bauer et al., (2006) article, Figure 2 presents the results of the SEM analysis for the longitudin" rel="nofollow">inal student sample. Please explain" rel="nofollow">in what the .47** on the arrow between procedural justice and orientation toward the organization represents, and also what does it actually mean?
6. Based on the results of study 2 (field model study) in" rel="nofollow">in Bauer et al., (2006) article, the researchers concluded that the partially mediated model is a better fit than the fully mediated model. What mediation refers to in" rel="nofollow">in the context of this study, and what is the difference between partial and full mediation in" rel="nofollow">in this specific context? How did the researchers reach this conclusion (that the partially mediated model is a better fit than the fully mediated model)? What do these results imply in" rel="nofollow">in terms of hypotheses support in" rel="nofollow">in this specific study? How do these results contribute to existin" rel="nofollow">ing knowledge on procedural justice, and to practice in" rel="nofollow">in the organizational justice arena?
7. The fin" rel="nofollow">indin" rel="nofollow">ings in" rel="nofollow">in Colquitt et al., (2001) meta-analytical review, illustrate the relationships among different justice dimensions (such as distributive, procedural, and in" rel="nofollow">interpersonal justice), and several organizational outcomes. Based on the theoretical and empirical knowledge that appears in" rel="nofollow">in this review article, draw a new structural path diagram that presents a mediation effect. Chose a sin" rel="nofollow">ingle justice dimension that will serve as the mediator between 2 other variables of your choice. Write for this model a correspondin" rel="nofollow">ing mediation hypothesis, and explain" rel="nofollow">in in" rel="nofollow">in one paragraph why you expect that the justice dimension you have selected would mediate the relationship you describe.
8. Please note that while it is important that you will address all the questions with high level of precision, specificity, Go in" rel="nofollow">into extra detail for and depth, for questions number six and seven.
