Pre-recorded public speech

1. Watch a live or pre-recorded public speech that's at least seven minutes long. Document the speech title, the speaker, when and where the speech was held, and through what channel/medium you watched it. 2. Identify each of the speech elements listed below for the speech. Expand on how well you think the speaker accomplished, navigated or considered each of these fundamental speaking elements. What do you think is or how would you phrase the speech's Big Idea? How authentic was the speaker? How did they accomplish that level of authenticity? What are the attributes of this audience? Who? What? Where? Demographics? 3. Identify each of the speech elements listed below for the speech. Expand on how well you think the speaker accomplished, navigated or considered each of these fundamental speaking elements. Describe the impact and effectiveness of the Opening? Describe the impact and effectiveness of the Closing? How effective were the visual aids and why? How much do you think the speaker rehearsed? Why do you think that? 4. What would you adopt in your own speaking? Which of the elements did the speaker do well? 5. What would you do differently if you were doing this speech? Which of the elements could have been improved?
