Several years ago, Dr. Z told me that my daughter and I have a rare genetic condition called Marfan syndrome
and that it can cause the primary artery in the heart to stretch and eventually rupture (called an aneurism). The
protocol is to measure the size of the aortic root with frequent ultrasound images in order to see if the aortic
root is getting larger or not. One cardiologist provided me with the following measurements:
3.8 cm in January 2014
39.1 mm in June 2014
3.8 "or so" on January 2015
42.4 mm in June 2015
0.004 m in January 2016
Another doctor, Dr. Q provided measurements taken with two different imaging methods at his clinic (CTAngiogram and Ultrasound) in January 2016. Both measurements averaged to 3.92 ± 0.1 cm. He also remeasured the original images from the first doctor and found the average of those measurements from Jan
2014 - Jan 2016 to be 4.0 ± 0.3 cm.

2-Do you think the first cardiologist Dr. Z was providing accurate results? Why or why not?
3- Which results do you trust more? Why?
