Preparing a a VAKT tool (Visual, Auditory, Kinesthetic, and Tactile)

Prepare a VAKT tool (Visual, Auditory, Kinesthetic, and Tactile) (ex., semantic feature analysis map, concept map, diagram, graphic or semantic organizer, visual representation, visual-spatial display, etc.) to assist students in learning concepts associated with VA Grade level SOLs. With the learning visual example, identify and write out the SOL to which it relates (e.g., Science: Living Systems 5.5, the student will investigate and understand that organisms are made of cells and have distinguishing characteristics. Key concept: vertebrates and invertebrates). Be sure to give the visual a title/name.
Students will prepare a 10-15-minute presentation and demonstrate the application as integrated into a standards-based lesson in order to meet individual learning needs. (What is the intervention activity and how will it be used to meet individual student needs). The presentation should include an introduction to the topic, description of the intervention (with appropriate citations) and examples of how to apply the intervention within the selected SOL lesson. In addition, a hands-on activity should be developed as part of the presentation as well as handouts for your class peers. The research, presentation and rubric materials will be posted to CANVAS.
